Dan Carroll is a British photographer whose work focuses on landscape scenes and objects. After moving from Wales to London in 2013, he soon began to photograph the places on his wanderings around the city’s chaotic urban sprawl. Focusing on periphery spaces and overlooked subjects, his London series, Silvertown (2013—2020), capture the uncanny, fortuitous and often fleeting moments that come with the aimless exploring of a city’s manufactured landscapes. Over the past few years, Carroll has travelled extensively to California, Europe and the Middle East to develop his ongoing series All Cities are Ideas. Exploiting only natural light, he captures delicate, serendipitous juxtapositions of forms and colours that invite the viewer to retrieve a lost sense of place.
