Anna Freeman Bentley | Reflections

We are delighted to welcome Anna Freeman Bentley to Canopy Collections. Opening on 5 March, Reflections will be the first exhibition dedicated entirely to her paintings on paper, and to the motif of reflection within her work.

Anna Freeman Bentley’s work explores the emotional and social resonances of interior spaces. Her works are distinguished by a rich, moody palette and expressive brushwork, blending careful observation with poetic reinterpretation. Through these figure-less interiors, she creates spaces filled with narratives that hint at the lives and histories that have passed through them.

Freeman Bentley was born in 1982 and lives in London. Her work is held in international public and private collections, including the Saatchi Collection, London; Hogan Lovells, London; Hotel Crillon, Paris; the Howard and Roberta Ahmanson Collection, California; The Basma Al Sulaiman Museum of Contemporary Art, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She has exhibited at Lindsey Ingram, London; Frestonian Gallery, London; Massimo de Carlo / Pièce Unique, Paris; GRIMM Gallery, Amsterdam; Monica de Cardenas Gallery, Zurich; Anat Ebgi, Los Angeles; Space K, Seoul.
