Macarena Rojas Osterling works across drawing and painting to create intricately detailed artworks that oscillate between control and fluidity. Drawing from her background in architectural drawing, she combines mathematical precision with bursts of intuitive mark-making. Musicality runs through her work: playful scribbles resemble musical notes set against carefully constructed lines, echoing scores and graphic notation. Each piece carries its own rhythm, repetition and visual music. Rich with overlapping ideas, her works feel both personal and universal, visually complex yet welcoming, asking to be unravelled.
Rojas Osterling’s work is held in international private collections. She has exhibited internationally at The International Center of Photography, New York; Canopy Collections, London; TJ Boulting Gallery, London; Black Box Projects, London; Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Lima; Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Santiago de Chile; Museo Amano, Lima; Amalgama Gallery, London; Centro Cultural Ricardo Palma, Lima.
