Freya Gabie works across drawing and sculpture to create artworks which explore our exchange with the landscapes which surround us.

In her series of unique drawings titled Monuments, the artist documents the piles of rubbish that collect near her home in central London. These works are a reflection on rubbish as the exhalation of society. There is an unexpected beauty to these intricately detailed artworks, which are characterised by a saturated colour palette and resplendent forms.

Gabie’s work is held in The Burton at Bideford Museum and Art Gallery Collection and private collections in the UK and USA. She has exhibited with Danielle Arnaud Gallery, London; Standpoint Gallery, London; Royal West of England Academy, Bristol. She has produced public commissions for Historic England, UK; Burton Museum and Art Gallery, Bideford, UK; UCL, London and Eriksburg Museum, Sweden.
