Canopy Collections are delighted to continue their curatorial partnership with Home House, one of London's most iconic private members' clubs. This collaboration includes a rotating series of exhibitions, as well as acquisitions on behalf of the club's permanent collection.
A new display in The Bison Bar highlights the work of Irvin Pascal (b. 1987, UK), an artist whose practice involves painting, drawing, sculpture, performance and sound. Pascal’s new abstract works explore varying arrangements of circular forms, which overlap to evoke the planets, the human body and the landscape. The artist’s figurative pieces depict scenes from his trips to Los Angeles (USA) and Kingston (Jamaica), capturing fleeting moments in the company of strangers and friends, such as British-Ghanaian designer Adrien Sauvage.
In The Restaurant, a painting from Dan Rees’ famous Artex series is placed into conversation with monumental oil paintings by Aethan Wills, which glorify the overlooked aspects of nature, translating delicate flowers and tree branches into abstract brushstrokes.
A new permanent salon hang in the stairway presents a joyous range of works on paper by emerging artists such as Thomas Cameron, Celeste, Anastasia Lopoukhine, Emerson Pullman and Irvin Pascal along with established names including Carla Accardi, Howard Hodgkin, Chantal Joffe, Barbara Kruger and Walter Price. The display celebrates the eclectic community of Home House, with a mix of abstract and figurative pieces.
