Canopy Collections and Shreeji Newsagents are thrilled to announce a new art collaboration in Marylebone. One Work, One Day consists of a programme of single-artwork exhibitions curated by Canopy Collections and hosted by Shreeji Newsagents. Each Thursday, one artwork is on display for one day, then it’s gone.

One Work, One Day aims to integrate art as part of our daily rituals, just like buying the newspaper and a cup of coffee to start off the day. Set within a local newsagents, One Work, One Day offers an alternative to the often exclusionary art world and brings the experience of viewing art into everyday life.

Over the past three years, Canopy Collections has become known for promoting the importance of living with art, by presenting unique works by living artists in alternative contexts, be it in collaboration with brands, domestic settings or outstanding historical sites. Located on the vibrant Chiltern Street, Shreeji Newsagents is a much-loved establishment for the Marylebone community. It provides local residents, workers and neighbours with their daily dose of culture, news and social exchange. Together, Canopy Collections and Shreeji are offering the local audience with a programme of single-work exhibitions that invite the viewers to see and to familiarise themselves with contemporary art, in a setting that feels intimate and familiar.

Shreeji Newsagents has been evolving and growing over the years, from a traditional newsagents to a provider of a highly curated selection of magazines and publications catering for diverse areas of interest under the ownership of Sandeep (since 1982). Most recently in 2020, it underwent its biggest transformation, with a collaboration and complete makeover by designer and developer Gabriel Chipperfield. There is now a reading room and a space for events and exhibitions, alongside a café and outdoor terrace.
