Thomas Cameron | Twenty-six days a year
We are delighted to announce that we are now representing Thomas Cameron (b. 1992, UK). His first solo exhibition with Canopy Collections, entitled Twenty-six days a year, will open on the 8th November at our new HQ in Bloomsbury.
Focusing on subjects depicted in moments of waiting, Twenty-six days a year captures the understated moments in life, often spent alone and almost immediately forgotten. It is the first exhibition to examine the theme of waiting in Cameron's practice, which is characterised by figurative paintings depicting everyday scenes of people in the city. Combining the language of vernacular photography with the tactility of oil paint, these new works celebrate the most humble moments in our lives while imbuing the quotidian with a sense of beauty and grandeur.
Thomas Cameron graduated from the City and Guilds of London Art School in 2022. His work is held in the collections of The Government Art Collection, UK; The X Museum, Beijing, China; The University of Dundee, UK; The Tayside Medical History Museum Art Collection, UK as well as major private collections worldwide. He was included in the New Contemporaries shows in 2021 and 2023 and has exhibited with Canopy Collections, London; Taymour Grahne Projects, London; LBF Contemporary, London; Camden Art Centre; London; The Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool.
