These abstract works are made on raw or minimally prepared linen and cotton using graphite and earth. Surfaces are developed through sustained gestural mark-making, with traces varying in density and clarity. Each work is titled after a place the artist has travelled to and in some cases earth collected from specific sites is worked directly into the surface of the piece, linking material construction to geographical specificity.
