James William Murray’s new body of work brings together diptych paintings and objects made from steel and brass, all based on a 1:2 rectangle and 1:2 cruciform which are ubiquitous forms in art, architecture, and design. These works represent Murray’s first foray into colour through a minimal palette consisting of ‘chrome green’, ‘grey white’, and ‘signal black’; specific shades drawn from the RAL colour management system.
