This painting is from a body of work that was inspired by the annual summer holidays Lara Davies took as a child to the beaches of west Wales. These works are about the marking of time, capturing moments of pause amongst the constant changes of life. The striped patina of this work evokes the deck chairs that would be lined up on the sand, becoming more and more weathered with each passing year.
