Lara DaviesFriday 27th May, 1949

£850

This painting forms part of a body of work that Lara Davies produced after an extensive bicycle journey that she made from Land’s End in Cornwall to John o'Groats in Scotland during the summer of 2023. She was inspired to take this trip by her great-aunt, Margie, who had made the same journey on horseback in 1949 when she was just 24 years old. Margie's journey is chronicled in her diary from that year, the pages of which are reproduced by Lara Davies through this series of paintings.
