Through his sculpture and performance, William Cobbing pushes the traditional boundaries of clay, both in its raw and fired forms. Entropy is a key concept in Cobbing’s work, and the figures who emerge from his sculptural and performance works often appear to be caught in a temporal state of metamorphosis, blurring the boundary between body and earth.
