Bruno OlléUntitled (Circus)
enamel on steel
2021
71 x 56 cm
Working with painting, video, text, sculpture and installation, Bruno Ollé explores individual memory and the relocation of objects. Demonstrative of his preference for found materials, his Circus series has its origins in an abandoned paint factory, close to Ollé’s hometown of Alella (Spain), where he first came across a selection of Pantone colour plates. These plates have become an essential tool for Ollé, allowing him to methodically construct paintings without the need for preliminary drawings. The resulting works are colourful, methodical and playful; reminiscent of playing cards, casino machines, signposts or kaleidoscopes.
