CelesteLapizlazuli
pigments and acrylic base on dyed cotton canvas
2020
280 x 280 cm
The work of Celeste is imbued with an abstract vocabulary of forms which are inspired by the landscape, architecture and bodies, both celestial and human. Their muted palette is characteristic of the artists' aesthetics and is achieved with natural dyes derived from their kitchen pantry: blushing reds, burnt oranges and wispy blonde yellows that convey an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy. This work was first displayed in 2020 at the Zapopan Museum in Mexico as part of Celeste's first solo exhibition.
Further works are available on a commission basis.
