Anastasia Lopoukhine works across pen and ink, charcoal drawing and collage. Often drawing from memory, her works depict characters from her childhood, which function as prompts to help her recall the funny, grotesque and strange nature of everyday encounters. The subject of this drawing is a friend of the artist who she recalls as the “tallest friend who lives in the smallest house”. When she sat down to be drawn, the friend interlaced fingers and said “let me do my therapy hands”.
