Anastasia Lopoukhine works across pen and ink, charcoal drawing and collage. Often drawing from memory, her works depict characters from her childhood, which function as prompts to help her recall the funny, grotesque and strange nature of everyday encounters. Historically, performing magicians have predominantly been men, yet arguably in life women tend to be the ones pulling rabbits out of hats. The rabbit in this drawing appears to be bored, having been pulled out of a hat so many times.
