Anastasia LopoukhinePandemic Flowers
charcoal, chalk, ink and wash on paper
2022
59 x 76 cm
Anastasia Lopoukhine works across pen and ink, charcoal drawing and collage. Often drawing from memory, her works depict characters from her childhood, which function as prompts to help her recall the funny, grotesque and strange nature of everyday encounters. This drawing pays homage to a friend of the artist’s mother, who would make bouquets for his wife every day, of flowers and sticks from his garden. During the pandemic Lopoukhine began to make her own bouquets, one of which is depicted here.
Framed.
