Anastasia LopoukhineWhere Yesterday’s Dinner Lives Next to Tomorrow’s Lunch

Anastasia Lopoukhine works across pen and ink, charcoal drawing and collage. Often drawing from memory, her works depict characters from her childhood, which function as prompts to help her recall the funny, grotesque and strange nature of everyday encounters.
This drawing is a musing on the way that fridges act as quiet portraits of their owners, just as revealing as their bookshelves. And yet, unlike a bookshelf, the fridge is rarely on display—its contents tucked away behind sealed silver doors. What quiet mysteries lie within?
Unframed.
